Location: Plattsburgh, NY | Awhile ago I was looking to buy a breadwinner and the pickups that I saw on a particular model were totally different than the ones that I have seen on everyother model. were they replacements or did ovation sell a breadwinner with different pickups? |

Location: Scotland | Early production examples have large single-coils (which look like humbuckers) Later models have the more common mini-humbuckers. Also, bear in mind that there's countless Ovation sloids out there with the original pickups swapped-out for after-market versions |

Location: Plattsburgh, NY | yeah i've seen some swaps. Those large single coils are pretty cool. I'm betting the pickups sound quite different if they are not powered. Is this true? On a side note did the preacher ever have active electronics? |
