Dilaudid, you say. I'll trade you one months supply of Darvocet for one weeks supply of Dilaudid! But, wait, that's not all! I'll even throw in a half dozen fender thin celluloid picks done up in a gaudy red-white-blue design.

Now what would you pay!?!

(can someone tell me why dyphenhydramine and pseudoephedrine have an hallucinogenic effect? Man, this is a fun day...)

Cruster - you lucky sod; a cheap and legal high! Here in Canada we're compassionate when it comes to pain; we can buy pills containing codeine without a prescription.

Al - send me your best early Adamas with a cutaway and I'll send you a prescription for Oxycontin, Dilaudid, morphine...whatever. I'm not a pharmacist, but I'll write you a prescription ;)

Duncan,
You forgot to tell Al that drugs are cheaper in Canada too :D  . I know this because im in the biz. This is no ancient chinese secret.
Does anyone remember that old commercial for Calgon dish washing liquid with the chinese girl? I was only about 12 years old at the time and I remember thinking that girl was really funny looking.
Phil

Oddly enough, just thinking about that commercial has triggered a laughing fit. Well, that and the cow-orker who is loudly proslytizing about the importance of an annual prostate exam. I suppose if I had a hot woman doctor like he does...

see, now I can't stop laughing again...sheesh.

:D

Hi Cliff,
I knew it was Calgon "something". When that commercial hit the airways it was a topic of discussion at many family gatherings. We all thought "Aye Ya" is that the best that these american companies could do for a representative for their product. I just remembered she had very big goofy looking eyes and a big mouth. I guess it prolonged the Charlie Chan buck tooth type of stereotype of chinese people. That is why people in my family didn't like the ad.

Phil, you're one letter away from my brother's and sister's name: Kong. When my mother remarried, it was to a Chinese Jamaican named Leslie Kong; any of you OFCers into reggae may have heard of him. He was a music producer who worked with such artists as Millie Small, Desmond Dekker, Jimmy Cliff, Toots and the Maytals, and Bob Marley (when he was "Bob Marley and the Wailers").

It was through my stepfather that I met Paul Simon, who let me fool around with his guitars when he came down to Jamaica. My mother got to meet the Rolling Stones (I was back in Canada at the time, dammit!), who got them to autograph their Sticky Fingers album for me; Keith Richards signed it "Y-fronts Inc., Keith Richards" inside the zipper on the album cover.

Al,
When I had physical therapy with Brunhilde, Sweetheart of the Waffen SS, after my knee replacement, both my doc and Brunhilde told me to take a Dilaudid thirty to forty-five minutes before therapy "for breakthrough pain." They said that without it, I wouldn't be able to work as hard and the therapy wouldn't be as effective. Maybe you can get the same deal. It never hurts to ask.
Get well soon.
Peace,
John

Duncan,

I have a chinese man through a friend who had an accent that I could not recognize at first. I did not want to be rude and ask him about his accent. A few months went by and then during a game of raquetball he yelled "Oh Man" and I realized his accent was Jamaican. As it turns out there is a large chinese population in Jamaica.

Al,
I'm going thru PT now as well with my knee replacement - 2x/week. The pain is incredible and they seem to know when to stop by the fact that my eyes are filling up with tears. I agree with the pain med idea 1 hr. B4 you go in. It really helps.

They're either sisters or first cousins.
