at first glance I want to think it is a 94 but it smells like a celebrity to me.

Al, I don't think I can agree with you on this one, Maybe it was one that was made without the extra mike? or that's been reomved? or one of the protos? or made after to use up parts? If interested, someone should ask if it's all original, make sure there's no hole on the front of the bridge.

It was the 95 that had the "front of bridge" mic, not the 94. But this guitar is one of those two, not a Celeb.

Except for that one feature, both are very similar. The rosette on the 94 was a little fancier (MOT) but also very similar. But the rosette in the pic looks like the 95.

Bill could be right and it could be a 95 that's had the bridge mic taken off.

Easy way to find out is to aske the seller what it say on the label. Or is that too easy? At least it seemed easy to me when I emailed the seller. I'll let you know.

Do any Celebrity's have 5 piece (or 3 piece) necks? This one does. But it's fishy...why didn't he post a better picture of the inlay at the 12th fret?

Yup. I have a friend with a '94 ... this is it. Optima preamp, interesting bridge shape, interesting fretboard. Great spruce top, shades of bearclaw. The bowl, a strip of the binding and a bit of the rosette inlays are a wine color. Nice ebony headstock, gold tuners with ebony knobs. The colors sound a bit strange, and to a traditionalist they surely are, but I like the way the colors all came together -- in a he-man way of course. ;)

It plays wonderfully. Great volume, nice neck. If you can deal with the color pallette, it's a great guitar.

It looked like a good one to me, but I'm not very knowledgeable. I'll be glad when my new shop is done so I can start buying guitars again!

This was swiming under my boat for the last few days..

I had trouble getting info... It is a 1994 with both 1/4" and XLR... I'm still lusting for this one...

Yes, GAS "again" and I have a kid going off to school... Mama's not going to be happy.

PS. AL P... The W597T made a great send off present to URI. That is one sweet guitar.
