Well it had to happen sooner or later, I'd get an incurable attack of GAS or MAS and have to go for it!

I will soon be the proud owner of a new Celebrity Mandolin bought at a bargain! Even my wife was getting excited over the biding! The only problem is I'll be out of the country in Serbia when it gets delivered and won't be able to play it for over a month!!!! :(

However, I'm still suffering from GAS, but my wife has told me that I've got to loose at least a stone (that's 14 pounds to those over the other side of the pond) before I can even think of buying anything else...what am I going to do?

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to playing my new toy in the natural finish on my return from abroad!

Cheers

Terry

Hey congrats on your purchase!

Being out of country while your new arrival is home - when in Rome...
It kind of leads the question "Is there a such thing as Bazooki aquisition syndrome, or Lute aquisition syndrome, etc"?

Well...after I finished a year working in Montenegro I was presented with an traditional Balkan instrument... a "Gusle". A goat skinned covered bowl backed instrument with one thick band of strings tuned with a single peg, played using a bow also with a thick band of nylon type string similar to a fiddle bow but larger. The instrument is rested on your lap. It makes a very "interesting sound" :D

It's use is tranditionally to accompany "musical" storytelling.

Cheers

congratulations. Moreover, stay safe on your travels to and from Serbia.....so you can enjoy the "mando" when you return.
