I got mine at Christmas for about $26.00 ea.

(Sorry Kaman, but that China made thing really was a POS!) It was very unstable & top heavy. My dog barely brushed my 1858 with her tail & the whole works fell over. Fortunately it landed up against the couch & no damage was done. I cut the piece that holds the bottom of the guitar off & moved it down 3 inches & welded it back on, then extended the rear leg about another three inches. Now it's ok, but if you don't have a wire feed welder handy you don't want a Kaman Ultra. /\/\/

They're very sturdy and fold up into a compact, stowable package. The Hercules that I have is a double guitar stand and safely holds my 6 and my 12 in JUST a little bit more space as a single stand. The cradle mechanism that holds the neck/headstock is really secure, but may be subject to going out of alignment when mishandled into the gig vehicle at the end of the night by over-tired fuckwits buzzed on free "house beer" (yours truly). Through the gracious generosity of Master Templeman, I slip the stand into a seperate nylon stand bag before it goes into the main duffle with all the other stands. Keeps the mechanisms from getting caught on the other stands and knocked out of alignment. Even when it does happen, it's easy to remedy. GREAT stands!
