The book is great, if a bit outdated now, ten years later; it needs to be updated, or supplemented. Anyone know of someone or someplace that has done this?

Hasn't been done that I know of, but I agree would be nice to see an updated edition.

What I'd like to see is a larger format, coffee table type book along the lines of "The Stratocaster Chronicles," but dedicated to Ovations. Since Walter Carter pretty much nailed the history of the company, I'd prefer to see something that focused less on corporate history and more on the individual histories of the various models -- how they were developed, how they evolved, etc. And loaded with pics, of course. Hey, we could all be contributers and help supply pics and info!

Sadly, I'd suspect that compared to a Fender/Gibson/Martin counterpart, I doubt that there's enough interest to make it a financially feasible endeavor . . .

If the next couple of years produce some phenomenal instruments and "re-birth" of Ovation Craftsmanship and ingenuity a new "Book" would fit right in there nicely!

Which anniversaries are coming up?

Hizzoner;

I responded to your e-mail, but that Government-subsidized e-mail system you got there "bounced it back", so I'll have to answer you here:

No, I haven't found the extra copy that I thought I had (yet), but I haven't finished all of my unpacking . . .

The one I have, "somebody" WROTE all over it . .

I have one of 'em with a bunch of writing in the front too ... but I think I have a second one that I don't need. Hit me up YerHonor if Cliff's adventures in box hell are unsuccessful.

Does YerHonor not have a book?

Would be a great project for someone to do. Maybe Hal Lenoard since they are the publisher and will get the bucks from the sales?

a revised updated version would be cool or maybe just a new printing even. I've yet to see one, let alone own one.

Hizzoner, if no one has gotten you a copy of the History of the Ovation Guitar book, send me your address and I will send you one. I have two of them as one was given to me as a birhday gift after I had already got a copy. It is in good shape, and I would be happy to send it to you.

Ok, first priority for the mayor. I got mine a few months ago on eBay but probably need to get another for Rudy (so I can get mine back.)

Any extras, let me know and we can make a deal.

Anyone new to this board or to Kaman products, recommended reading.

gee . . . where've I heard THAT before??? . . :D

I agree.
It's not that expensive of a book, and if you love Ovations, it's really worth reading/having.

It's just that it is accurate. The problems I've heard about have been lack of depth of coverage of things, not getting things wrong.
