Not ethical by ebay standards, but it still happens. Yep, Local stores or an Honest Small Business Dealer(Read AL) are looking better all the time.

I have no idea who he is, and since his feedback is private, no way to do any checking out. But I don't think he is a shill bidder, because I run into that user ID nearly every day on eBay auctions. I will say this again, too: there ARE extremely reliable sellers of used Ovations on eBay.

At present they aren't stocking the 2 way Truss Rods for this. If they were to open it up it would mean availability of outstanding custom instruments with Longneck features. Adamas Carbon or Scalloped Spruce tops with the bridge placed where God meant it to be! Have you asked Al to do some scouting for you? MoodyPI could too but his daily rate will kill you! :D

I don't even know how to TUNE one of these, but figure learning to play one will stretch my musical horizons. Maybe I will become the David Grisman or Sam Bush of Praise and Worship.... (Getting closer to David bar Jesse would be a good move, too.....) :D

A mandolin is tuned the same as a violin, but, as I'm currently in darkest Serbia without mine I can't remember the tuning for the life of me...so not much help, sorry! It's definately E at the top (highest) and then tune back using the 7th fret of the next lowest string set. Crap explanation, I'm sure somebody else can do better! Cheers :o

Jesus!, I had been bidding on this mid '70s Legend, '75 I think. Must have been custom. Top was red. had the gold pegs, but had a busted head stock. Anyway, clock was counting down, less than ten seconds, then he struck. Guess his golden rule is "Do unto others before they do unto you". Quite miffed.

I have read posts concerning snipe programs and such as well. My approach, and it is as scary as all get out, is to just bid and list your no-kidding high bid! :(
