I've just come across this website by fluke and I must say, it's great to see other Ovation guitar lovers, although I must say, so far I'm only in love with the GP. I build guitars and for my next project I'd like to build a 'near' replica of the GP. Ideally, I would buy a GP but as they are hard to come by and the point of my new project is to integrate some mad electronics into the guitar, I don't want to route holes out of a lovely GP. So instead, I'm building one from scratch. What I'm hoping for is as many pictures from as many different angles as people here could provide, this will help me make sure it is as close in design as I can get it. As I don't get the chance to see one in real life, pictures will have to do! If they are quite big pictures, or you feel there are too many to post (eg. I don't want to waste the owners space/bandwidth), get in touch and you can email them to me, if possible. Thanks in advance to everyone.

My unsolicited advice is don't try to be Josh Homme, there are a ton of great Ovation guitars, solid body and acoustic/electric that are not fads and are affordable and are great sounding guitars. Buy a cheap Viper and load it down with new pickups, necks etc. and you will totally impress your friends. Just ask Moody pie, our resident private eye rock star stand in. Welcome Bailey

Then rework the top body part into a horn. It flows right out of the curve that's there. Try to make it look like the treble horn. The neck attachment area is the same for both guitars, the horn is all in front of it.

A question I would really like to know the answer to, how do you think a GP style guitar would look with a tele control plate on the front with those little chrome pot knobs? I really love both those features on both guitars but I can't imagine if it would look stupid on a GP. I tried a mock-up in Photoshop but it didn't really help. Any ideas? I need to put 6 pots in the guitar, so those little small ones would take up the least amount of space. Thanks for the replies everyone, I also found the Gallery on the main website, very useful for me!
