I was just wondering if anyone had any information on a mid-70's Ovation 1619. I just bought one and was wondering how much it was worth. It is in pretty good shape. There are a couple of cracks on the top, but it still plays excellent. Any information is appreciated. Thanks.

Not to sound like a smart ass but what ever you paid is what it's worth to you. The prices for used Ovations are all over the place and seem to depend on what someone that is looking for a guitar is willing to spend. Ovations are usually a great value for what you get...a super sounding, beautiful guitar.

I have a 1617 with craks in the top. What's it worth to me? I would never even consider selling it. I write songs with it, record with and just play the heck out of it. I guess you could say it's worth a million to me. To the rest of the world, probably 400 bucks.

Well stated, our guitars are worth a lifetime to us that play them, the dollars aren't relevant. How many dollars is the many experiences that a good instrument has brought us worth? I hate to make this kind of comparison, but wives, kids etc. are in the same category. Things we love are not things we price in dollars.
