Good move to keep Al out of your room. Otherwise he'll be trying to swipe and sell your guitars!

Kaki and proud Papa, congratulations it sounds like we've got a rising star. that's a feeling not many musicians can experience. seeing the country is it's own reward for having enough talent to support your journey. i don't know to what extent your label is setting up or supporting your website site, if you think you' re lagging in that area, click on http://afxs.tripod.com/ this guy can do amazing things with audio and video. he's based out of Santa Monica but he does stuff on the cheap. Kaki, enjoy the ride!

I beg to differ, seeing the country is the purgutory that has to be endured between gigs. The hour a day on stage may be fun, if there's a decent sound system & a friendly engineer with half-decent ears, but the rest of it is just something that you put up with, especially when you've ran out of socks & your underpants are inside-out for the third time, and that's before we consider what being on the road does to your eating habits...aaaagh!!!!!

Regardless of age and attitude, dirty underwear & bad food is no fun.

Like a true middle aged dude who still tours, when it's in the blood even road food and the call of the laundromat can't keep you away.

Hey Gang!

Mr. Dave King-Thanks for your response...you are most generous to have made that offer to the OFC fans of Kaki. You really seem like a fantastic guy, and your support for her is very admirable! I'm really looking forward to Kaki's release and your post! How exciting for both of you!

Mr. Paul- Thanks for your input on the "dad" thing. Truly, I understand you are right, and despite my bitter comment, I have had that understanding for quite a while. Patience between parents and kids is tough at times, from both perspectives. My father and I have a tough relationship, but where it counts, for the most part, it's on target, and I appreciate him very much.

Still, I'm sure some therapy is in order! Heh heh!

Have a great day, guys!
Johnny

With all this positive feedback, I would love to get my hands on a copy of the cd. How or where can I get a copy?

Hey, has anyone seen this yet?
Go Kaki, go!
I've said it before but folks like Kaki are just what Ovation needs.

Kaki's own spot on the Adamas site...

Pep, I guess there will always be a market for promos as well as for used cds, that's just the nature of things these days. I would merely point out that an artist makes absolutely nothing on the sale of such items. Of course, we all must follow our own conscience about these issues.

In Kaki's case, her record deal was pretty slim on the front end, but made up for by a generous per-disc royalty. Sort of just the reverse of what happens with the "major stars". At age 23, I know for a fact that she is really going to depend on the retail sales of this new record in order to make her living and keep her career going long enough to produce a second record of original Adamas-oriented music.

In a sort of happy coincidence, I'm happy to tell all the OFC members that her record is now available both at Amazon and at Barnes & Noble, and that their prices are actually competitive with the copyright-violators at e-bay. Don't take my word for it, check them out:

http://bn.com

http://amazon.com

Just put her name in the search box, then click on the link.

The cd also has cd/rom content including a professionally-produced video of her performing onstage and being interviewed "MTV-style".

On her behalf, let me again express the most sincere appreciation for the interest you all have taken in her, and deepest gratitude to the Ovation/Adamas management who have shown such honor to her.

Finally, on a personal note, I will always believe that the members of OFC had a a lot to do with her becoming an Adamas Artist. Thank you one and all.

Point taken. Just wanted to hear more of her music and the link on her sight to cdbaby said it was permanently out of stock, do not order. Didn't know at the time that it was coming out later this month. I've read the rave reviews on this site and heard a few songs on MP3.com. Had planned to see the show in Trenton, but it coincided with the OFC factory tour. I'm looking forward to hearing her live when she comes back to the east coast.
