The after tour jam took place at a local Firehouse and it was a great time. You would not believe the talent in this group. Michelle and Jon kicked it off and they set the bar extremely high for the rest of the evening.
Paul Templeman lent a hand on guitar and Mandolin on a number of tunes.
Matt Smith aka Mr. Entertainment was his usual stunning self and acted as MC.
Kim Keller not only brought the PA and set it up but also managed to jump with with a rare Adamas bass for a number of tunes (or was that a viper bass? or BOTH)
Rick Hall got up there and sang and played Yesterday and Miles did an original tune.
Kathy and "DJ" provided the food and I wanted to let you know that DJ was a long time Ovation guy. Kathy currently works in Bloomfield.
Woz did 4 + 20 as his first public appearance and I think every one in the audience had a big smile after he was finished.
after a few beers and much coaxing I got up for a few tunes and I would like to thank those listening for not puking or clearing the room at my meager vocals and playing. Thanks to STonge Amy and Cliff for bailing me out and Cliff for actually asking me to stay for a few more tunes.
I know I did not mention everyone I am sure others can fill you in on the rest of the night and some of the tunes played.
During my set I remember doing
The letter
The thrill is gone
Knocking on heaven's door
Moondance
One way out

A special thanks goes out to all who played and stayed to listen, There seemed to be no egos that night. Skill level was not important what was important that you got up and played. This is about sharing the guitars that we love with the new friends we have made on the message board.

thanks again to everyone

". . . a special thanks goes out to all who played and stayed to listen . . ."

They HAD to stay, Al . . . . . . the bus back to the hotel wasn't coming until 9:00!!! :D

btw: "kudos!" to all the other members of the OFC "Road Crew"! We got a veritable SHITload of gear off-loaded from the rental truck and back into Kim's garage in 2 mins. 28 sec. (yes, I timed it!). Not too shabby for a bunch of tired old drunks late at night after a long day.

Thanks again Kim, for the gear!
(and to Miles & Kim for running the board).

Hey, I remember seeing a lot of gears and guitars in Kim's garage/house. When's the nex tour to Kim's Garage going to be. Maybe he'll raffle off some of his gears to a dedicated OFC member. What say you, Kim?

Just me and my Adamas!

Which reminds me, not only did Ovation give us all a factory tour, breakfast, lunch, dinner, & a bag full of goodies, but Rick & Kim raffled one of the last of the Folklore Deluxes, which one lucky member took home him. Incredible.

We need to make it a tradition that if you win the guitar you are the first person to play at the jam.
So to whomever won the foklore, you have a year to practice and I expect you to bring that guitar up next year and play a tune at the jam.

You're MUCH to hard on yerself there, Al.
You got a BUNCH of good licks in there, once you got into the groove. I, on the other hand, need to rely on my big mouth to drown out my guitar. Like I said: I'm not a guitarist that tries to sing, I'm a singer who tries to play guitar (and badly).

And to that point Cliff, here's something we all feel at some time or another,
it's not the talent,
or the song,
it's the equipment!

All who performed were suberb. You all were motivation for me to practice more. I shot video of about the first half hour then ran out of film and batteries, so apologies to those who performed later. Though, I did get live shots of everyone who made it up on stage. I've sent all to Miles for the "fun stuff" section. Next year I'm bringing extra film and batteries.
