Does anyone have a 1986 collectors with a adamas 1 bridge and new Abalone rosette with a epaulette surrounding it. Just curious where it is today. Last I heard it was in south carolina.
Oh another thing. I was told a guitar I sold to Sam for 300$ has sold for 14000$ I feel like an idiot. most people think so . 1st Adamas 12 string evern made. Its sister 6string will be at the tour. I am in the process of repairing #8 Ovation for Frank. It has Jim Rickards signiture on the top from 1967. He was presenting it to someone??? The signiture is on the inside which means he signed it before he bonded the top. real cool.

Luthier444, what guitar are you talking about that i sold for $14000 ??? I have never sold a guitar for that much money. If your talking about adamas 12 string serial # 33,i still have that one..If your talking about the adamas 12 string prototype,i still have that one also...I have never sold either one..If i was to be offered that much for it ,i would personnally deliver it to them anywhere in the USA.....Sam

Im not sure who started the rumour but "I like it"..Bidding now begins for my two very rare 12 strings. Please send all bids over $12,000(each) to my e-mail address.. you-are-a-sucker@aol.com

Luthier444,since you have the sister guitar to my 12 string ,i am prepaired to but it at the same price i paid for the 12 string. Its a little steep but i dont want to keep these siblings apart any longer. Please tell me where to send the $300 check...Does that include shipping?? ;) ;) Also, do you remember the serial number of the 12 string proto? I think it is # 12 but im not sure. All i have is a label on the case that has 12 on it.Does that mean 12 string or serial 12,any help on that..I also have proto adamas #7.....

Wayne, these were pre slothead models.Slots started at # 26.These are prototypes #7 and #12..I have posted pics of these guitars on a topic somewhere here.I cant remember where?I did pay around $300 each for them at the time.I dont know that slotheads were ever available for for $300...I imagine the value of these are $5000 and up now..Anyone else want to guess at the value of the slot heads??I feel that the Ovation slotheads are ovations "pre war martin D45's"....The rarest and most sought after.Any other opinions on this?

As I've moaned about on several occasions I had the oportunity to buy Slothead #57, now owned by Sam, for £800 about 20 years ago, which was about £200 less than the price of a production Adamas back then.

My SlotHead sold (in 1978) for $2,400 from a music store where it was supposedly presented to by Charlie (I have the original receipt).

Luthier444:
Is this "six-string sister" that you're referring to a SlotHead? If so, what number is it? I'm trying to keep track of these buggers.
