Joined: November 2002 Posts: 23 Location: Indiana | Well the saga continues,3mos. and still no guitar,we did get an empty case back though,and yes I've heard the buy american song however it still says Ovation on the headstock even though that is where the split is,I really don't know if the main problem is guitar works(dealer)or ovation,but either way the warranty support is dismal,my son(his guitar)is no longer an ovation fan and even though I love my Elite special I will have to think long and hard before buying another O, end of rant. | ||

Joined: November 2002 Posts: 23 Location: Indiana | I'll try to make it brief,Celebrity cc257 headstock developed split along grain,took to guitar works greenwood in in dec. 2 weeks before they sent it out,emailed customer service after a month they said communicate through guitar works,gw said they(ovation) were replacing guitar which is fine,but after 3 mos only an empty case that ovation returned to gw. | ||

Joined: March 2002 Posts: 15686 Location: SoCal | That had to have been a mistake on Ovation's part. Why else would they send out an empty case. Frustrating, I know. But Guitar Works needs to call Ovation and ask why the empty case. Stuff happens. I wouldn't get mad at Ovation for making a mistake. See if they make the effort to make it right. I've read too many stories on this board and other places to think that Ovation customer service doesn't care. | ||

Joined: October 2002 Posts: 56 | I think that this an absolute outrage! How dare they? I think that as a sign of your displeasure with Ovation you should immediately get rid of your Elite Special. Joined: November 2002 Posts: 23 Location: Indiana | Well sorry to say Ovation has lost one fan and another is on the edge,my sons guitar was 2 mos out of warranty and Ovation said yes that is a wood defect (the split headstock)and yes we are replacing the guitar,but you will be charged $150 labor as if we replaced the neck,new warranty ,new guitar(cs257)I guess the average person would be pleased however niether my son nor I are pleased.It just seems like poor customer relations.P.S. still no guitar yet. | ||

Joined: February 2002 Posts: 5750 Location: Scotland | Hmmm, an imported guitar 2 months out of warranty..... they have no obligation to cut you any slack, so it doesn't seem like such a bad deal. Also highlights the benefits of the lifetime warranty of the USA guitars. | ||

Joined: November 2002 Posts: 23 Location: Indiana | My understanding is the warranty is the same on both after 2 years you pay labor,if this was an auto and an injury had ocuured from an admited defect guess who would pay,I,m not saying they owed him anything, what I am saying is if they admited the wood used had a defect they would have been more customer friendly to not charge labor for replacing the guitar. | ||
