Sure is, Jonmark...although the guitar is probably more "forever" than I will be. ;)

I remember the Tom Rush version. I think that's the first I heard the song.

". . no pedal steel, it was Lindley on lap steel . ."

I was referring to the Allman recording.

THis seems to be a theme recently with the aging artists, doing covers of songs about getting older, showing old pictures, but unfortunately the artists seem to die off shortly after (Like Johnny Cash and "Hurt")

I hope it doesn't happen to Glen. I have been kinda hoping Willie would go after doing Dave Matthews' "Gravedigger" though.

Long live Glen Campbell!

I still wonder of we'll see another jimmy webb collaboration... I'd heard that was coming sooner or later..back in the day it was glen campbell, jimmy webb and al delory..they called them the 'dynamic trio'..

They've talked about that recording for at least the last 2 years. I saw Campbell and Webb in concert together in March 2007 and they were great! They said they were going to record together but despite all the talk, nothing's happened. Boy, I'd like to see them do that one last recording before Campbell hangs it up or croaks.....

Especially now that Glen is back on Capitol. It would complete a circle.

Al Delory lives here in the Nashville area. I had breakfast one morning with him thanks to a mutual friend. I grilled him about the Campbell years. Great guy. Great stories.

It's enocuraging that Al DeLory is still alive. Campbell doesn't tour near as much anymore. This next year he spends most of his time in Great Britain. I wonder if Dennis McCarthy is still around...I'd probably listen to an album if he made one with those guys...
