Yesterday at the D'Addario table at the CMS there was a 2003 Collectors for sale ($800 firm).

I wasn't able to pull the back cover and look but I could see enough to know it isn't a standard bracing pattern.

What is the bracing pattern with the 2003VN?

The '03 came out before the LX upgrades so at a guess I would say Quintad bracing, same as any non-LX Elite style guitar

I just had the opportunity (see other mails on the subject) to hold one for a couple of days. It has an Adamas bracing - a fan of thin braces from the front widening to the back, with a longitudinal brace just behind the bridge. I guess that's the Quintad bracing Paul is talking about. It is, in my view, surprisingly thin ! nothing compared to the mass of standard X bracing.

OK,

Marc

Thank you, that was my guess. I'm learning to appreciate that year more and more.

A true Collector - unique bracing, trim, inlaid epaulets, etc.

One day...
