I got a Ovation 'Classic' 1713 love the sound, it's what I need for my acoustic numbers, but I've got a problem, I use A gibson Les Paul for 60% of my work and I need the nylon strung for the rest, but the neck on the 1713 is too much hard work due to it's width. Can anyone recommend a nylon strung with a narrower neck? the 1713 is about 2 inches at nut. I did try stringing my balladeer with gut strings but the high E clicks as it pops off and on the bridge at hard strumming! I don't want to file the bridge in case I mess it up, any ideas? I've found the sound I need and want to keep it a mellow nylon strung, sweet ! |

Location: SoCal | Look for a used 1624 Country Artist on ebay. They have a 1 7/8" neck that feels way smaller. Great nylon string guitar for steel string players. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | What Moody said. I have both. Really like the 1713 better, but it's hard to switch from the regular neck to the 2 inch. Don't try stringing your Balladeer with nylons. Even a Folklore doesn't do well with nylon strings. |
