Location: East Wenatchee, WA | My aunt and uncle who I rarely see stopped by to visit on their way home from vacation.
While here I found out my uncle is playing guitar in his retirement, so I busted out the 2080 and 1537 for him to give it a go. Basically he was blown away by both, statements like..."How do they get that good of sound out of a guitar with a plastic back" and "man I wish mine was this easy to play".
Bottom line he is on fixed income, but would like to upgrade, however he is playing classical on a nylon stringed Hohrner (sp?). I suggested he look at an Ovation Nylong string, but do not know which model numbers would be a good choice in the lower budget ranges ($200-400) that he has to play with.
Since he wants to try before he buys, he is probably relegated to retail. Appreciate your input on what a good guitar for him would be to make another O convert. |

I came across a REAL NICE 1624-4 Country Artist for 350.00 if memory serves. If interested, let me know and I'll run it down for you... |

I mentioned that I knew someone who probably could come up with something ;-) |

Location: Boise, Idaho | A Country Artist for $350 is about as good as you can get, unless he likes he standard 2 inch neck of a classical guitar. In that case, try to find a 1713, which also has the deeper sound of the deep bowl and cedar top, but you'd be hard pressed to find one for $400. |

Location: GATLINBURG TENNESSEE :) | You never really know sometimes. I got my 70s classical on Ebay for about $225, and it is in outstanding condition. You just have to be patient and be in the right place at the right time with your finger on the trigger. |
