Location: Boise, Idaho | Instead of watching the weekly DVD at the cabin this weekend, we went to a Preston Reed concert at Brundage Mountain in McCall. Heard an ad on the radio and figured we should do something different. I had only vaguely heard of Preston Reed. He played his Adamas more than any of his other guitars put together. He can actually play in the traditional fashion and did a couple tunes on a nylon string.
At the intermission I bought a couple of his CDs and told him I just got my first Adamas. He said he didn't know what Ovation was doing currently, having had the Adamas custom made years ago.
He put on a great show to a small audience at the base of the ski hill. Except for a couple people who drank too much and talked through most of the second set, it was a wonderful evening. Oh, I almost forgot the only other bad part. He thanked Yamaha for loaning him some guitars, saying that it was too expensive to ship all 7 of his guitar on tour. My wife repeated, "he only has 7 guitars" all the way home. |

You should explain to your wife that he only has 7 "touring" guitars. That never takes into account the 20-30 or more that they have laying around the house and studio. |
