Plugged in the Ute tonight with the XLR and picked up an oldies station over the amplifier. It came in louder when I started to plug in the dummy plug, but went away when I plugged it all the way in.
Didn't happen when I plugged the 99 Collector's in with the XLR, just with the Ute. Must be something in the preamp. I should have waited for station identification, but didn't want to wait for Dean Martin to finish. Anyone had anything similar happen. This was the first time it happened to me.

Nope, not on mine...however, could sell it as a "special" adapted karaoke guitar.

Well, when I dropped my Fender Frontman (when it broke), I plugged it in to see if it was alright and it picked up mariachi music from some station. At that point I knew my amp was gone. So yeah, I can relate.

Mark, what preamp does the Ute have? Does it have the same trouble people have experienced with the VIP with the tuner and the "dummy" plug?

(my wife still thinks a dummy plug is when she sticks a sock in my mouth...)

ya know, I noticed that when I plugged the Ute I had in, music came out of the amp, too...but it wasn't Dean Martin...more Leon Russel sounding...

It's happened to me be before. I was picking up two-way radio conversations from a trucking company. If only I knew how to play "Convoy" I could have worked it in.....good buddy. :D

I'd rather have Dean that Leon. Saw him in concert last year and he is toast.

Preamp is OP Rro. Got the same station tonight. I should listen long enough to figure out what station it is.

It wasn't my guitar that was the problem at the time...it was the Crate amp.

You're right, Bill, he has gone down hill. Used to have some great stuff, though!
