They both are deep which is what I want. I realize the fretboard is a little wider on the 1114, but would they both have about the same sound?

Partly due to the set up but mostly due to their design. My 1114 is high on the bridge piece and the bridge is set deeper into the soundboard (12th fret to body). My 1112 is set with light strings and a closer action. I suggest you play as many samples of both as well as an Elite T before you commit.

What exactly is "nutwidth" I know it has somehting to do with the measurement of the width of the neck, but is it the measurement of the tuners or what. and...thanks Mike for all the help!

A standard steel string width is 1 11/16" A classical is 2" 12 strings are 1 7/8" Some steel string guitars have a 1 3/4" nut. The folklore and the Country Artist have a 1 7/8' nut.

I did end up picking up that 1114 on Ebay, and it should be here this week. My wife is starting to think I really have a problem. (I think she may be right) Oh well, problem or not, I still love my guitars! :D

As far as guitars go I completely agree. 1-3/4 is the standard nut width. 1-11/16 is skinny neck. 1-7/8 is wide neck. 2 inches is out of my league. Actually one of my favorite guitars is spec'd at 1-13/16 but that's a little like splitting hairs. Dave1 3/4 is the ultimate size for a nut

Thanks gh1, I have been looking for a deep body, strictly accoustic Ovation and was considering a 1112, but decided to opt for the 1114 as they seem to have a little more projection. I am used to playing the 1115, so I figured the neck wouldn't be a problem.(I guess I have, what some would call, FAT hands.)
