Probably part of what got me thinking about a longer neck to get the string tension higher so they wouldn't flap about like they did on Gordon's little parlor. I don't know of any others but I'd bet Ovation wasn't the first.

First-hand history is an experience rarely encountered, so I always enjoy a great yarn like that! Dweez, I've no doubt you'll get your chance to compare your 93 with an 87 (or a Book) some day. With a deal hound like you, it's only a matter of time. :p ;)

Some guy who used to be here, Standingovation, was selling them as an after-market item, amazing things. Don't know what ever happened to him. string tubes? Keep a good lookout for them. If you can find them get as many as you can.

Kept the ridges of the strings from "filing" into the wood as you slid the string thru the bridge, thereby keeping the strings' "grooves" from picking-up wood fibres. DEFinitely made strings sound better/longer. I MIGHT have an extra set or two lying around, I'll have to check. Whatever HAPPENED to ThatGuy, anyway?? He just "disappeared" . . .
