No slot head!!!??
Sorry, Stephen, that is a beauty, and judging from all the comments I've heard on Froggy's, I bet it does sound good. Maybe someday I'll get to play one.

Well now I have put about an hour of play time on it and decided to compare it to my other D-naughts, the TAK 45th full body and the Bourgeois D-Slope cutaway.

Fingerpicking

Frog 10+
Bourgeois 8.5
Tak 45th 8.0

Flatpicking

Frog 9.0
Bourgeois 10+
Tak 45th 8.5

Cowboy Chords

Frog 9.0
Bourgeois 8.5
Tak 45th 9.0

All 3 of these guitars sound significantly different but each is astounding in its own way.

The walnut sides of the Frog give it a full rich sound that really lets the bottom sing with a clarity that is unusual to my ears. The top end is clear but not bright.

The Bourgeois is a flatpickers delight. Incredibly low action for an acoustic and every note is clean and pure and resonates to no end. For chording it is bright and clear and almost chimes like a 12 string. Very impressive.

The Tak 45th is just an all around powerhouse. It doesn't excel or dominate in any of the areas but is always in the mix and just a smidgen below the best that the others have to offer.

I can now happily sell off the Taylor DDSM, the Martin 000-28NB and eventually the Collings C-10 Deep Body (to be replaced by the Collings OM) and die a contented and smug old man!

If any of you guys pass through the Rockies, please stop by and do a bit of pickin and grinin!

I noticed you didn't do that comparison of the three.

Ha ha ha......real guitars don't plug in.

About 1/2 my guitars plug in and the other 1/2 don't so I am covered. Plus if I am concerned with a beating, the trusty Adamii ALWAYS fill the Beal ;) .
