Was this actuallya series of guitars made for John Lennon or did this guy just see a picture of him holding one?

Curious?

There were a small number of John Lennon guitars made for the export market. Al got hold of half dozen and several OFCers bought them. I haven't seen the ebay ad to tell if it was one of those or just a Custom Legend.

it's an unofficial thing
He played one and there was a pic that surfaced after his death.
That model was reintroduced for a while, it picked up the nickname "John Lennon model". At least that is how I think it went.

From what I understand, Japanese Distributor had the factory make them as an anniversary of Lennon's death...guitar that you see on the Acoustic album. It is a Legend, Ltd. with A brace (think Custom Legend w/o abalone).

The remakes have a lighter bowl and the re-engineered tone/vol pre-amp which is an improvement.

There was one demo (mine) and four or five FRG's that became available here. They are great guitars.

The originals aren't bad, either, just a bit heavy in the neck.
