That's what I call customer service! They're sending me shims and saddle pins across the Atlantic free of charge.

Yeah, I know, it's just my first experience of it and I'm impressed. Was telling some non-guitar colleages about it and they said 'What? It's almost 30 years old and they HAVE spare parts, and they're sending them for free?'

Interestingly, I had previously contacted Fender UK looking for these parts and they've come back with a reply:

5550029725 BRIDGE END PIN rrp £1.00 each
5550029844 - A/E SHIM rrp £1.00 each

Not sure if these are Fender or Ovation part numbers but they say I can order them through any Fender dealer.

Please don't tell Fender UK how you got your parts...

I might also suggest that if/when such things are courteously provided "gratis", that we not continually broadcast such on a public forum . . .

Fair comment! Just that its nice to be able to celebrate good service on the increasingly rare occasions where we encounter it.

Yeah, and they read this stuff too!
I contacted them about parts for a use guitar I got and I was complimented on my purchase, cuz they had seen me bragging here.

I know what you mean. When I posted those threads from my last visit to the factory, John emailed me to compliment the pictures I had posted. Good folks at that place.
