That looks really cool! Maybe I'm a little slow first thing after the holiday, but I can't find it on Jerome's site. Have a link?

Is it a Wood topped Adamas or is that the paint scheme?
My Japanese reading skills are a bit missing...

A couple questions cross my mind ...

1. Does the age of the wood (in this case 100 years) BEFORE it is made into a guitar top really matter? I thought it was the aging and "opening up" of the finished guitar that was critical

2. Would (no pun intended) a wood topped Adamas II sound any different than an Elite non-cutaway, maybe a 1537? Yes the suspended top ring is a bit different but on a wood top does it matter?

Kind of ambiguous, but it does say "seasoned for over 100 years", so maybe it was cut and sitting on a shelf.

On Dave's point No. 2, I presume you'd need some bracing for the wood top, which would affect the suspension ring, if not eliminate its benefit.

$2,023 USD.

Kinda' sucks that this wasn't offered in the US. I wonder if you would still have to pay customs since it ORIGINATED in the US?

If something was manufactured in the USA or Canada, you're not supposed to pay a tarrif.

A USA manufactured instrument being returned to the USA = no duty.

No taxes, no customs? If that's right, you are a very happy land.

In germany fiscal authorities give a rat's ass where something has been manufactured. Everything that is imported has to be paid taxes and customs for. No matter, if it was assembled in germany before and then has been exported. This is meant for foreign, not european transfers, for sure.

Best regards,
Kurt

I don't really care for the dark red tint ... or the black neck. If it were closer to the 1537 colors it would be great in my playbook.

Playadamas has a wood topped Adamas (Super Elite?) in this same confirguation (maybe it has an Adamas I neck, I can't remember), and I've played it.

Yeah, the 1/4 inch increase in the depth makes a difference in the sound, for the better. It's a very impressive instrument.

This guitar is worth every penny they are asking.....

I'm sure it is, but i'd rather have an Adamas 12 string right now.

I counted the rings on a book matched top CA1624 that once upon a time belonged to standing O. It showed that the wood was at least 100 years before it got cut up and made into a top. If memory serves me right it was made in the late 70's, so the top of the guitar is at least 140 years old. That's cool.
