I will say that adding the Baggs to the Daisy Rock is an excellent idea. Did you do the work yourself?

The Daisy Rock Retro H 6-string is an excellent guitar, and I would imagine that the 12 is every bit as good, and the addition of a piezo bridge? Well, that's just brilliant.

Here's a quick and dirty take of Eleanor Rigby that I did on a Daisy Rock Retro H into a Vox Pathfinder 10:

Bottom line is that I am short on cash, so... But if anyone is looking for a Ric on the cheap, I would bet that that Daisy Rock Retro H 12 w/ piezo would get you at least 90% of the way there.

Woody,
Is that Baggs on the Daisy Rock set up so one can blend the minihumbuckers with the piezo straight out to the amp via standard cable?

The Control X system
Control X Manual

Has the allowance to use a Stereo or a Mono jack. You can also seperate and blend the Mag and Piezo outputs with a three way swich.

Take a look at the Uber Deacon I sold to OMA and you'l see how to install the separate piezo saddles into a Schaller one piece bridge.

MWoody, could you tell me more about your Flame Maple Project Viper? Is that one where you made a custom body, etc? I've always wanted a Viper that had that set neck/double cutaway body. It's a nice group of guitars too!

Some pictures
Some older pictures of the flamy One

On the Flamy Viper I have straightened out the pickups and redid the binding without the inlay.

I was right then, that Flamy Viper is beautiful. I'd love to get it, not sure if I can right now cause I'm in the process of buying a natural finish/maple neck Viper III. Would be nice to try to figure something out though. How does it sound/play? I can't tell what kind of pickups you have it. So you crafted it yourself? It's beautiful work. I've always wanted to learn the guitar luthier craft.

It is a Viper 2 piece Maple body with a Flamy Maple top put on it. The Pickups are Artec Mini's with Alnico 5 magnets and could easily be replaced with Viper or any other mini pup.

Ah alright, that's cool. Sorry, I was just confused before, I'd never heard of Artec before now. Sounds nice.

From what I have gathered and observed the Artec stuff is made well and consistant. You can grab a set on Ebay for under $40 and they have a "near Viper" tone.

Mini sized pups are also made by Seymour Duncan, Gibson and will fit the Ovation pups.

Cool, so you can put mini humbuckers in Ovations without routing, I never knew that. Well, I don't want to turn this into an OT thing. I'll have to see if you still have the Flamy Viper in a couple months, it sounds like a fun guitar.

"Well, I don't want to turn this into an OT thing"

LOL - Not a problem on my posts! Especially since anyone with money or want would have jangled in.

Don't forget the Lay-Away plan...

"in a couple months"?

Uh, I think that you are missing the point of the concept of "For Sale"

(that's just me thinking out loud)

I may have to consider this lay-away plan, I'll try to pm you in a couple weeks if I get some dough together for another guitar.

Haha, yeah.. I do get cloudy on the meaning of for sale at times.. :)
