Is anyone interested in an Ovation "String Fling" frisbee that was used to package Ovation strings in the 70's? I just came across one tucked away in one of my boxes from college. It's blue in color and has the Ovation logo and is in great shape.

Yes.

Is that the flexible frisbee or a hard type?

You can't just give it away and its obviously "priceless". I should come up with a trade!

Hmmm.

Noah was first but I was "creative"!

Before we start the bidding you have to tell us about yourself, what guitars you have, etc.

BTW - Welcome!

Obviously Marketeering and Engineering weren't on speaking terms again!

I'm a little embarrassed to admit I don't currently own an Ovation. I've been tempted several times on the site, and have certainly played a few over the years. I currently have a couple of Fender electrics, and an old Norman acoustic, but keep thinking an Ovation is the solution to my acoustic-electric need. I really want to do the factory tour (It's about 5 hours away from me), but seem to keep missing the date. Perhaps 2006 will be the year...

The frisbee is of the soft plastic variety. I didn't want to do the eBay thing, but am open to offers.

Best,
Frank (Badsinger)

That's okay.
If y'go on some of the other "GuitarBoards", y'generally hear the exact opposite . . .

I will trade a 1996 Anniversary pick in an Ovation logo plastic bag (factory parts come in them.

My other offer is some (Official Factory) saw dust in a bag from the Factory.

It just doesn't get any better than this!

Anybody else have trading material?

MWOODY,

How about this:

http://www.ovationfanclub.com/photos/Patsbro_59099_string%20fling.j...

* A String-Fling Thing
* Plastic cover
* Insert piece for a set of Ovation Silk & Steel Strings
* 5 of the 6 string envelopes

I linked a photo above. If it doesn't show up on this posting check my album under Patsbro for a photo.

It will cost you the following:
* The 1996 Anniversary pick.
* One of your famous three hole long rod covers. You pick the cover.

If interested post here or E-mail me at Patsbro@att.net

Please be aware of my hard bargaining skills! I think I'm the only one on this board to win two Air Guitars from Ebay!

Let me rummage the work bench Patsbro. Can you PM me your address. The pick is one of the handful that W2 gave away. I sent one along with the Dadi DVD and probably want to keep the one I have (Value +.50).

Woody,

I am very flexible. As a matter of fact if we are keeping score, you are ahead. A while back you sent me a copy of the Aaron Tippin/Factory tour DVD. I like the idea of bartering for the odd Ovation item. You should have my address in your E-mail by now.

Spit-in-handshake is done!
But now I am cursed to sift through eBay looking for a wrapper for that sixth string...

Seems I was unarmed for that kind of psycological warfare!

Meanwhile, Badsinger (busted-bobbin?) needs to unload some reminders of College life.

What kind of cool junk do you all have out there? This is at least a good opportunity to show off some of the odd marketing stuff from whenever!

My Ovation backpack I got with my LX goes on all gigs with me. I recently picked up a Leather look vinyl Ovation case cover so that I can be fully accessorized.
Cap, coffee cups, etc.

Anybody find any worn snakeskin boots in the FL/CT Salvation Army stores?

Not really a marketing thing but a direct Ovation tie-in nonetheless... Anybody remember the "Going to the Dogs LP? :cool:
