Joined: June 2004 Posts: 271 Location: Ft. Lauderdale, Florida | First, thanks Glenn for the pics...and the kind review, it really is a great sounding guitar... With a deep bowl sound and lovely harmonics... I've been under Hurricane Katrina's furry for the last 24 hrs... and power is on and off... As for cracks in the sound board- I just took a real hard look with mirror and flash light... As per Glenns pics above: #1 is a repaired crack, the crack has been relieved, becuase you can see daylight from the inside... There is some type of light resin covering the area, to stabilize it ... Cracks 2 and 3 show no evidence inside the guitar so even though they show an un-even surface from the top of the guitar, they are not in the sound board... just finish cracks... None are bookmatching seam as that is dead center and not an area of concern... As for price I'd like to recover the $400 I gave Glenn... I would include shipping to OFCer's in the lower 48 states, as a courtesy to members and to sell it quickly... Damage from Hurricane was minimal.. Lost a few roof, barrel tiles and trees got a good trimming... Ab

Have a 1981 acoustic 1118 GC 12-str, deep brown bowl, slothead, dark sunburst...no cracks, nothing - just a tiny chip inside the slothead where a string probably caught it (chip has been sealed.) Will eventually sell this one or a dark sunburst 1658 Custom Legend slothead 12. $650 (plus shipping). Only $75 over my cost in 12/03. Probably best example of a great guitar for less than $750.
