Just the buttons, not the machines. for the life off me I couldn't understand why they would ruin such a beautiful instrument as my 1763 with them, so I replaced them with ebony. Mmmm Ebony... Rememer, opinions are like farts, everybody has them and no one thinks theirs stinks. Also there's no accounting for taste, good or bad.

I think they would look outstanding on any guitar, especially the darker finishes. I have ebony on my 97 Collectors but pearliod would look nice too.

The logo stamp on the headstock has faded and the walnut neck has darked to a sweet hue. There are scratches on the original chrome ones and I think the Gold and Pearloid will go well. The thought of Ebony buttons sounds like a good one too. This guitar is the lightest, clearest O I have and just amazes me at how it has stood up and can measure against other guitars to this day. It is the same model as this Ebay Offering: Beat Custom Balladeer in my Backyard
