A Carvin stack, or the other amps I have just didn't seem right for it. Kinda like pairing Cabernet Sauvignon with seafood. It's all rectified now. Acquired from a gentleman who bought it to use in his band back in high school, it's sat pretty much under it's cover for the past 30+ years. As far as I can tell, it's from around 1968. Very cool, and in EXCELLENT shape! Not one tear in the tolex, not one snag in the grill, original footswitch for reverb and tremolo included. This is gonna go nicely with my sparkle blue doubleneck, but I think the Tornado might be fun too! This thing is very clean sounding. It's not their earliest tube amps from the 50's, but a great amp none the less. It even did decent when I plugged the LX in. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Joined: December 2006 Posts: 6996 Location: Jet City | Update: Above I said I got a decent tone with my LX. I had it plugged into the "Reverb and Tremolo" side. I just plugged it into the "Normal" side which only has treble, bass, and volume knobs. Affter a bit of tweeking the LX onboard, and the bass and treble, I've found an amazingly clear acoustic sound out of this thing. It sounds just like the acoustic sound of the LX. I can't get the same tonal quality from my Roland AC60. I didn't buy this for the acoustic guitars but hmmm...

Got anything in the queue as the first set? Originally posted by Damon67: 'Fraid Not! Clever choice of words, but I think that's more suited to the PF-22, no? :DIt's all rectified now.

It's going to be a new path for me, just like going mostly acoustic was for me a few years back (After 20+ years really only playing electric). It's a rockabilly/surf/country pickin' setup for sure. So something along those lines. I plan on studying EVERYTHING about Deke Dickerson's style. He's my new email buddy. Plays through a Standel (though the big $$ old tubes from the 50's). Deke's usually playing a Mosrite or Mosrite style guitar. Deke has a Signature guitar made by Hallmark Guitars. Bob at Hallmark is the one fixing my '63. Should be done in the next couple weeks. Can't wait. Buddy Dughi is another guy I'm going to watch. And of course, Crazy Joe (& the Mad River Outlaws). BTW, a '63 (few months older than mine) that Deke used to own is up for grabs. Mine's in much better condition though... if you ask me. I am a bit biased though. :D Deke\'s old \'63 Doubleneck Mosrite

GWB, only about a billion pounds. So much that I didn't feel comfortable using the handle. But it's on there pretty good. BTW, they are back in biz doing replicas of the old tube stuff. Danny McKinney seems like a good guy to deal with. Interesting tidbit, Deke wrote the history section on their website.
