Hello, hello,

I received my 1113 yesterday and I am wondering about the stringholder in the bridge. The "higher" part is pushing up the high e string while the "lower" part is on the bass side. Shouldn't this be the other way around?

Regards
Meuti

Meuti, The saddle is probably upside down. It can only go one way and is obvious if you flip it around.

Meuti, what does the action look like around the 12th fret? As long as your clearances are correct and it plays okay, I wouldn't worry about which side of the saddle is higher. I had a Balladeer that looked exactly as you describe, but the action was good and it played nicely. If you're action is high on the 1st string and low on the 6th, then I'd look at reversing it.

I agree with Nick. I have seen (not too often, but once in a while), guitars with backwards looking saddles that have great action and no buzz.

Hi Meuti,

my both classicals are different, the 1713 nearly flat, only the high e string is a little lower. On my 1624 the lower e, a, d and high e are on the same level, g and h are a little lower.
I think it's individual for each one of the classicals.

Thank you all for the answers. I think I will try to turn it around. Just for the looks ;)

Oh, sorry,

happy birthday to you, sorry that I've forgotten!!

My brother's birthday was on 18th. Yesterday we all were at his little celebation of that.
We had a lot of fun. He also plays guitar, but was not a great fan of O's, till I bought my first really good one ('95C). Since that day, he bought a 1612 Costom Baladeer and my 1756 Legend 12 string and is an Ovation fan, too.
But he plays more electrical ones.

=) Thank you Marenostrum, Alison and Bernie! That's very nice. I had a huge party yesterday, we ended at 6 in the morning and today I'm enjoying a massive hangover ;)

Sounds like you had a happy birthday. I guess we should have wished for a happy day after too!
