| Joined: January 2010 Posts: 10 | It's always interesting to see how the bracing patterns start to show through on the older pre-71 or so models... I've always wondered why. My Brother's 71 Balladeer is the same way clearly showing the VT bracing. that's a nice looking early Balladeer. and the first I've ever seen with a finish other than a -1 or -4 for those years. was it done with some repair work? or did it come from the factory in a cherry burst finish? as I didn't even think Ovation did custom colors like that in 65-67.. also that bracing pattern on that one you have pictured is the same pattern as was on the '66 Balladeer #22 That your friend Jerome just bought off of Mr. Carney and is currently at the Ovation Factory. pretty cool to see another old one like that... and especially in color.
