Springsteen doesn't sing on pitch. Bob Dylan? Most of the time the word is as much a mystery as the note being sung by both of those two. What the heck is Joe Cocker saying? Does anyone know what a "crossfire hurricane" is?

Taylor Swift is neither the most nor the least gifted vocalist to be a big music star. She's got something that appeals to millions of fans. Technical perfection is not the only ingredient to success.

I heard part of one of her songs and thought she was off key. That's hard for me to listen to, so I surfed for something else.
I've often wondered if anyone else notices off key singers or if it just bothers me more than it bothers others. Apparently I'm not alone.
Ben Folds is another that can't seem to find the right note, but I wonder if he knows it. My daughter was listening to him. I immediately recognized him because he's always off. She was singing along and I asked her, "When you sing along with Ben Folds. . ." and she interrupted, "do I sing on key?" I guess she hears it too.

How easy it is to criticize from the other side of the TV screen. Let's see ONE of us get up and do what these performers did. I applaud all of them. I think Swift was awesome and always is. What a great role model for young girls.

Garth's wife is Trisha Yearwood and, IMO, has one of the best voices in music. I've admittedly only seen her sing live a few times but she's never hit a bad note to my ears. Incredible voice.

Taylor is miserable live. BE it on a award show, talk show, whatever, I just can't listen to her sing. I really want that KOA Taylor she has though, without the odd hole cover thing though.

As for the lack of Ovations, as someone said earlier, Ovation just hasn't kept up with the times. I love mine, don't get me wrong, but O needs something new, something wooden to compete with others. I truly believe they have some of the best playing necks in the acoustic biz, but I do wish mine was all wood, even if for just cosmetic reasons. The Adamas, while I myself appreciate what they are, they are just odd and old looking for most people. The Bindings, the bridge, looks almost Victorian at times. The rough finish isn't impressive either when your looking at a large rack of guitars.

I agree. They look nice, but their electronics are just terrible.

I have played on TV , live TV. But it was for a girl that could sing. When she was younger i played for Brandon Jane from the band Coldwater Jane.

Singing off-key never hurt Johnny Cash either.
Most of 'em should be called "Song Writer/Singer" instead of the other way around.
