Ladies and Gentlemen,

first, nice to be back on the board again, thanks Al and Miles!

I've bought on ebay USA in the first week of December an old 1615-4 Pacemaker. It looks that it was in good condition, except of a little crack at headstock. So I've had submited my bid and then was going to sleep. The end of the auction was in the early morning. Next day I was looking and it was mine. I never thought that it was going so cheap. Now I paid it.
So I was waiting...and waiting 2 weeks...3 weeks...4 weeks, then I emailed the seller for looking for it. He sent me back the package number and was very fair to me. But now I thought there is only a lot of trash, because no word of a case in the describtion. After 6 weeks I got a letter from the customs duty office, that I can pick up my "trash". When I opened the package, I was extremly surprised, the guitar was in it's original old case, both very dirty but in good condition.
I've cleaned it, repaired the neck-crack, new strung, upgrated the pickup and the preamp and now it sounds like an angel and is shining nearly as new. I'm very happy with it. http://ovationfanclub.ning.com/photo/album/show?id=2194223%3AAlbum%...

Nice job on the VIP preamp, too, although I'm not sure how the modelling functions would work with a Pacemaker.

Sweet guitar. That light olive green really helps highlight the PM.

Iffy, the VIP-5 is wonderful in every guitar, you can "tune" the sound how you would like it.
I've upgreated all my old guitars with the latest generation of preamps. They all are sounding much better and I can change all the preamps to the gits like I would do, they are all from the "pro-series". Thats only great!!

bburg,

Nice guitar and excellent upgrade work. The preamp looks like it's always been there!

When it comes to wood-topped 12-strings, it's hard to beat a 1615.

In a perfect world the Pacemaker would still be in the lineup. This one is really nice. Great job.

I'm impressed... And envious!

Love the electronics upgrade... And yeah, you can always switch the module around, for variety. :p

BTW- OMA that's it!!
That guitar was the greatest steal I've ever made.
It sounds with that electronics really unbelievable.
