Location: Utah | Don't destroy the Patriot! It is a rare guitar, in demand. The condition will reduce it's value, but refinishing it yourself will destroy any value remaining, without improving the sound or mojo. |

Howdy do krtrader101. Welcome. This is a fun place but it can get expensive.
One comment- If you really can't live with the finish send it to the Mothership. I can nearly guarantee that what you are thinking about doing to it will not be an improvement. |

| Thank you for all the comment. When I decided to bought this guitar I just want to own an ovation guitar but not the celebrity(I've tried at GC but I didn't like the sound) not realize that it is a rare model. After I look around most of them cost over my budget(350-400) then I found this one for$375.I got it cheap(I think???)it looks old and I just want to refinish it myself. But after I review all the comment I think should appriciate what I have and I will leave it alone and I'm sure I will enjoy playing my guitar. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | Leave it alone and play it. I paid significantly more for my Patriot, with a couple of finish cracks. I was told that the factory can't refinish it without destroying the decal, and there is no way to replace it.
Mine plays so easily and sound so good that it rivals my 1537. |
