Anyone have any photos of a disassembled LX neck joint? I find myself curious how they go together, but don't really want to take mine apart just to find out.

Take a look at the Ovation web page. I think there are some pictures there....

Thanks for the tip.

I found this:

but that's all. I'm curious how the neck side of the system works. Does it use graduated shims for neck angle?

Any idea if there is anything about taking it apart that can't be undone? I know, I know. Too much curiosity...

At this point, I'd say that you should contact the factory.

Are you planning on taking apart your guitar or are you just curious?

No shims, it's CNC'd to mate body and neck.

Three bolts and it's off. Just don't lose the little Budny nut from the Keller pocket.

Yes, there are shims both behind the heel and under the neck extension. Back when this was a new thing there were a few videos kicking around from OFC tours. This is pretty much the most advanced neck-to-body design available thanks to CNC, and it's pretty much the same as Taylor's joint. There might be more pictorial stuff on line relating to Taylor guitars.

Its just curiosity mainly. I've had a Taylor NT neck apart before, and was wondering how the Ovation LX design compares.
