What I really like about it is that it offers gobs of what my 1537 and 87C offer. Like I said, the 2010 C looks to my eye, like a modern version of the 1537.....

I'll bet you'll find the 2010 to be a LOT different when really put side-by-side. It'll be a lot lighter and have a totally different sound character. Originally posted by moody, p.i.: Could be. And the 1537 is so revered and there were 1000 of them. There will be only 50 of the 2010s. I'll bet it sounds great. I love the walnut neck and binding and the cherry bits on the headstock and the guitar. I'd like to see that purfling close-up. I might wish it was the baloney like on your 87C. What I really like about it is that it offers gobs of what my 1537 and 87C offer. Like I said, the 2010 C looks to my eye, like a modern version of the 1537..... I'm looking forward to seeing one of these in person. Next week maybe?

Hey Moody, The one thing I could see that may be different is the support structure under the top. You know we've discussed in great detail the birch ply underlayment for the eppis. They haven't listed what the type of bracing is either. I hope you guys will give us a detailed report when and IF you are able to see it. I DO agree though ... If you have the 1537, why do you need a different Elite? But on the other hand, my 2007 Collectors sounds completely different, and has a lot more bottom punch, even with the contour bowl and cutaway.

I'm kinda excited about this and looking forward to photographing and playing the one at the Ovation booth.......
