Interesting. I Got a Name is one of the only songs I haven't learned off Volume One.
I was just doing Father and Son last night and tonight. It's not too hard once you get the strumming pattern down. Might be a bit difficult for a gal to do the father's part, though.

Well yesterday I installed the last set of strings that I had onto my Norman guitar so that means I might have to get out the dog sled and go downtown to buy some strings for the Ovation - or maybe not.

Supposed to jam next week with my neighbour from Flarriduh - don't know why he's living up here in the arctic - if I could I'd go south where it's warm..lol

How so? Kinda scary, but I'm somewhat in Cat's vocal range. :D

I know that the song is called "Father and Son", but when I first heard it a few months ago, I picked up on the universal theme of parent giving advice to child, child insisting the parent doesn't understand and child having to go his own way. At least that's my take on the song.

Michelle, go on over to Youtube and type in "Tom Rush The Child's Song". Similar sentiment and sung by one of my all time favorites.

Thanks for pointing me to that. I just checked it out. Very pretty song, but I don't think it resonates with me as much as "Father and Son" does.
