Hello All,

I made my apologies to Alpep via his myspace account in a message sent to him several days ago... and should be in his inbox... in addition to that I used one of the apps in a joking way which asked if we went to lunch would he insist on splitting the bill to which I said yes... unfortunately when attempting to access AL's blog or messages to retrieve the message I sent... for LostArtVintage on MySpace this is now the message that is displayed.....

Al, Miles,

Hello to both of you. Hope the New Year is going well.

I e-mailed Al via his Lostartvintage facebook and apologized for my actions and statements.

I assured him I would abide by the TOS, and I understood it was his/your forum and was both of your choice as to who remains a member or not.

at that point I was using "That Guy Glenn" as an ID and have been behaving using that ID, and would/will continue to do so.

This morning I woke up... and that id is disabled, and our previous ID's both for myself and Charlotte are now banned by IP which by the way is NEW as we had to downgrade our internet service and go to another provider due to the economy and our current financial state. additionally, Charlotte was the one posting under her ID, and I asked AL to contact her or us regarding that and was ignored. If you'd like I'll have her call either of you directly to confirm this.

The only thing I take umbrage with is Al wanted me to identify all of my friends here who are in agreemant with me about the perceived "double standard' (there are more than a few)... and in his words... "So he could give them a vacation/remove their membership too."..... This I will not do, and many of them are respected and long term members on the forum. and I will not have them singled out with/for having an opinion similar to mine... that's just not right.... and if they are not publicly challenging you, I will not rat out a brother.

either way, I have enjoyed and appreciated and supported your work and the forum and helped others there for many years... and will continue to do so as a lurker if that's what you deem is necessary...

but I am not the ONLY one of the members who uses MULTIPLE ID's for whatever reasons.... usually just to stir the pot without repercussions... I will (if allowed to return) use only ONE member ID, and promise to abide by the TOS for the forum.

Best Regards, and hoping for a prosperous New Year for all... hoping for a response.

Thanks,

Glenn

Hi Miles, I am sending this to you directly so as to be sure that it is not deleted/ignored or deleted by Al upon sending it to the support e-mail for the forum.

I have been an active and productive and helpful member on this forum for many years, and have supported the site financially twice through paypal contributions over the years. 25 dollars each time, I know it wasn't much in the scheme of things and your hosting costs and maintenance time, but I try to do my part.

I have purchased Many new and NOS items from you and sunnyledges, as well as items from the OFC store on many occasions. some very rare pieces that were finally built into guitars and the rest of the spares and extras I had were sent to Mike Woodford, Mike Lobosco, JonnyCash, and any others that may have needed a part to repair or refurbish their guitar, all at no charge.

I have purchased New Guitars, gear, parts, and Amplifiers from Lostartvintage and AL on several occasions. a 2771 Lx Balladeer, a shen 60 amplifier, airlocks, tuner buttons, tuners, and a few other items.

I have gifted several hundreds of dollars of NOS and used Ovation parts to Mwoody for his projects... several bodies, necks, electronics, bridges, transducers, pickups and other assorted NOS and used Ovation solid body parts as well as about a pound of Abalone/MOP and inlay work and Ebony and Rosewood Bridge blanks.

I had a very old vintage 1117-1 w/Grovers that I offered as a partial trade to Greg Smith/SOP music against a New Anniversary Edition GC 12 string.... it was sent to mother for refurbishment... he wrote me back telling me it would take too much work... so I told him to give it away to a deserving musician to play... which he said he did, and later found out he had it restored and then re-sold it. this is what John Budny told me...

I have supported the factory and mothership many times by having restorations and refurbishments done, and am on excellent terms with both John and Kim. John just sent me a carved TRC for the loaner that Iffy sent me and I have put that and a set of Temp's Walnut buttons on it as well to dress it up as a thank you for the loan when he decides he wants it back.... I once had over 20 Ovations and Adamii, but due to Char's illnesses and our bills and current financial state I no longer have a guitar of my own. Slydog has loaned me a 6868 standard vintage burst and a 1615-4 12 string, and Johnny sent me the 1763-4 so that I may continue to play the guitars that I love.

I have contributed more than 200 dollars for guitar gifts for other members when the request was made. one of which was for John(Waskel)... when Mwoody asked for parts for an auction to help a friend I sent him a brand new Gold Schaller Bridge that I purchased from the factory.... and am sending him the Cypress slab to be turned into guitar bodies for more new projects for him, he should be able to get 3-4 nice bodies out of it.

I got burned on a 1114-4 by a member here that was supposedly playable, but had an unrepairable neck twist.... I sent it to Mwoody to see what he could do to make it playable.. but no luck and between that guitar and the 1117 I lost over 800 dollars. the 1114 has now either been parted out... or is still in the unplayable condition in which I received it.

Jerome has received many vintage documents, posters, and other ephemera over the years from me and copies of them all are on OvationTribute.

I had two bad dealings on this forum, which were in my first year as a member... one with Stephen, and one with Bruce... my apologies and amends were made... and according to the both of them... all is good and they hold no ill will against me.

Everybody that I have sold my collection to has been very happy with the deals and guitars... with the exception of one... which was a EA68 Viper I purchased off the bay... it was in rough shape when I got it... and I did my best to make repairs... but the guitar was represented and disclosed correctly by me in the auction... and the problems on the guitar were as I received it.... the buyer instead of returning it which was his option, decided instead to bad mouth me... and it is the Viper that had the Epi's removed by Mother and done entirely in the Black Polane... I did not glue the nut in, nor make all the glue mess where the fretboard met the body...that was all done by the previous owner... but I did purchase and install a NEW opp in it as the previous owner had destroyed and dis-assembled the original, and tried to glue it back together with Elmer's and it had no signal on two strings... so I again took a major loss in selling to a member.

I have checked out, inspected, photographed, taken histories on, tested, babysat, proxy bought, and shipped guitars both state-side and world-wide for many of our membership here.

while in Gainesville for my wife's surgery last year, I met Gator and the rest of the guys, and also gave them/him gear, goodies, and souvenirs to be distributed to all there.

I have made assurances to AL that I will behave, adhere to the TOS, and keep my opinions to myself, even though I have received lots of encouragement and support from many here, including their condolences, sorrow, and disdain about the way I have been treated by others here under their aliases... those in my corner are long term and respected members... and number more than 10 and less than 20.... and is all I'm going to say... as Al said he would remove or place any of them on vacation if I identified them to him. I'm NOT a RAT!!

all postings by my wife under her ID were written by her, and not me, and the treatment she received at the hands of the OLD GUARD were completely unacceptable, and she deserves an apology for them from them... though I know it will never happen... I explicitly told her on those occasions not to post or say anything... but she saw how upset I was... and did so as my friend, partner, wife, advocate and best part of every day.

anyway, I am asking your permission to rejoin the forum... if you would like a public apology to the group, I will do so, but upon this removal from the group.... which was my first vacation, there was nothing political, religious, nor an attack on any other member of this forum or the forum in that signature line... and I honestly don't feel an apology is warranted for that post or signature line.

I know I've screwed up in the past, and I apologize for trashing the database the way I did 4 years ago... but I promise to behave, and only offer constructive advice or comments in my postings.

Miles, Thank you for your time. Al, again I apologize for offending you.

Best Regards,

Glenn Allen Hess Sr.

Glenn
this is the problem as I see it.

You know my e mail address. why didn't you e mail me? instead you choose my space? and add some sort of strange application to it? sorry that does not wash. Especially when you send some flippant message and then START A NEW SCREEN NAME????? I have asked you on several occasions why you keep starting new screen names and you never answer. If you cannot remember a password then you have a different issue.

Your involvement with purchases good bad or indifferent have nothing to do with your involvement with the OFC, nor does your support. YOUR actions and behavior have everything to do with it.

You repeatedly attack people and are reactionary on the board. I will agree you have been attacked also and I have given those folks vacation from the message board also but you just don't seen to learn.

(I edited some personal information about myself I did not want public alpep) I sympathize with you that is why I have not asked you ever to take any of those posts down but you must realize once you do them, they open you up as a target. Certainly I do not believe your wife made any of those posts on the website. Why would she care what a bunch of people on a guitar message board say or how they treat her husband ? IT IS ONLY THE INTERNET. The response posts are too detailed and contain too much inside information for me to think that it is anyone but you making them. If I am wrong my apologies. but that is what I believe due to your behavior on this board.

I have nothing to do with Gregory and sounds of praise music, why you bring him up is beyond me I also have nothing to do with any transactions or dealings you have had with other members.

being a member of this board is a privilege not a right and you must behave accordingly. Saying I will behave and starting a new screen name is not acceptable behavior. The arrogance of this act is beyond me.

Ultimately this "old guard" stuff that you perpetuate and harp on is just totally unacceptable. If you conduct yourself in a manner that is acceptable you will have no problems. If you live your live in the cyber world then you can expect to get some criticism.

at this point, I will NOT even consider your reinstatement for another month. The arrogance of just signing up on another name is still something I cannot deal with. If miles decides differently then we will talk.

Ultimately I have wasted too much time on this, wrote too much about it and am tired that I had to start my day with this type of issue. I hope your day starts better than mine
thanks

Al and others, my wife and I have been together for 10 years now, and just celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary on the 28th of last month... we are not your normal married couple... we have always worked together as a team at every job we've ever had outside the home, you never see one of us without the other, and in 10 years of our relationship, we have never spent more than 48 hours away from each other, and that has happened only 2 or 3 times over the past 10 years.... other than that our life has been entirely "together" and within 20 feet of each other at all times... we're an unusual married couple... we still like each other.

Since my wife's illnesses and mishaps we have been basically shut-ins with about a zero social network other than the internet. We have operated, founded, and facilitated many non-profits and forums world-wide in addition to our businesses being 100% web based... but that's fine, we actually like each other, and I do have a few local friends that understand our situation and her mobility and health problems and visit, dine with us, and assist us when they can.

Al Charlotte did make all of those responses, she opened the account on her own, and did so despite my protestations. You can believe it or not... it really doesn't matter at this point. we have opened, run, moderated and owned forums the size of the OFC and larger, sometimes as many as 30 different groups at a time.. and because of her disabilities the Internet is our social network.

"just an internet forum?" you belittle your own and Miles hard work and this fine forum which I believe to be one of the best on the web.

anyway, I can see that your mind is set. Miles, Al, keep up the good work... I won't return or attempt to log in again.

to all of my friends here and those who offered prayers, support, help, friendship, fellowship and comfort when we needed it... Thank You!

It's been a rough six years, over 10 of our children's friends have died horrific deaths, our daughter almost died with the other 3 many years ago, since then another died of Brain seizure in his sleep, one was taken off of life support by his parents and starved till he died, another was a gunshot suicide when Wal-Mart wouldn't take back the shotgun she had bought when fighting with her boyfriend, Nick's father passed from an accidental overdose, Shannon's best friend was a victim of vehicular homicide, and another was killed texting while driving... on top of this my wife became a sudden death heart syndrome patient due to hospital mistakes, and been inpatient at various hospitals for over 8 months of the previous 3 years.. and we've went from making very "VERY" good money through 2006... to being on Medicare, Foodstamps, and Social security today and struggling to keep the lights on and the rent paid...literally counting pennies at the end of the month.

she is literally one fall away from being paralyzed completely or worse as her spinal fusion which is 40 years old is crumbling and they cannot repair it.

this forum was a home, haven, and friendly place for me, those I know as friends, I have your e-mails and phone numbers.

Take Care and God Bless you all.. may 2010 be a more prosperous and better year for all.

Play On!

I assumed this whole post was fabricated, but you just can't make this shit up.

Glenn, if you're lurking, I sincerely hope you turn things around. I have no beef with you other than to say that the broken record you keep playing on this forum is getting really old. Yes it was my choice to read, I could have ignored. But it's like a trainwreck you just gotta look.

Good luck and good bye.

Glenn - step back, take a few deep breaths, and try to get some help. If not for you, then for your wife's sake - she needs you to take care of her. Forget about this forum - as you say, you know how to contact the people you need to. Good luck.

It's this stuff that makes me want to throw the switch and such this site down permanently. It's supposed to be fun, it's supposed to be about Ovation Guitars, it's supposed to be about music. It's an Internet forum...

I am closing this topic because it needs no further comment.
