Wow, Jeff! That thing's cool! Is it a real instrument or a spectacular PhotoShop job?!?!?

Nice! I trust the QA process at JW Lutherie does not involve a trebuchet. That is a beautiful piece.

It's real, no photoshop.

I wonder. . . . how far would it fly? Much more aerodynamic than a guitar. You've got me wondering now, Bobbo.

Interesting...
Where did you score the carbon fiber?

Oh yeah.....whatever happened to the great used string experiment?

I like it, Jeff--a really neat blend of history and space age. How is it tuned, and what does it sound like? (Inquiring minds want to know...)

I located a good supplier of carbon fiber who makes the fiber in the very same way that Adamas tops are made. Dragon plate.
The strings are ; octive course, single, unison course bottom to top. It's not fretless but, that's an interesting idea ( I did apply the slide to it).
It is currently tuned DGD but can be tuned DAD, DCD, GAD - many different ways really. It sounds very sitar like but a found bit rounder. Like a really fat dulcimer. It's fun.

The great string project has morphed due to my inability to consistantly braze / soldier various guitar strings together. This caught me by surprise... Not that it might prove tricky but, downright elusive. May go the casting route.

What kind of pickup does it have? Did it affect the acousticness of it when you installed it?

No P/U in it... amplifying might break several civil ordnances.

Overall length is about 35" the body is about 14" heel to neck.
