Can I also assume then that guitars bought for oneself as Christmas presents get the same dispensation?

Nice find TJ and a very happy birthday.

oh boy t.j. electric gas is twice as bad.
start clearing out areas for amplifiers that you don't need but you just have to have them in every room of the house for quick playing when needed.
make room for cables and pedals to trip over when walking by.
get ready for the mrs to start yelling at you for having your new obsession start taking over some of her personal space.
t.j. you have really done it now
thats the way to go out with a bang.
congrats on the new digs, very nice start for your first. GWB

Happy Birthday TJ & nice Strat. I love the Strat sound but I can't play 'em cuz my little finger keeps turning the volume knob unexpectedly.

"Electric Gas" would be a good name for a rock band.

TJ called me from Sevierville and told me about the Strat; he didn't tell me about his birthday and it being his gift to himself...as if he needs a reason to buy a guitar...lol
Happy birthday Jim and enjoy it when you get back to FLA. Get a Micro Cube Roland and have fun with it!

Now I've got to sell a set of drums to make room (and $$) for a nice amp. I'm sure the wife won't appreciate "loud guitar" any more than she does "loud drums"... Oh well, we all have to adapt. :D

The Fender Super Champ XD is a super little amp. Plenty loud, with very nice emulations of various iconic amps. Swap out the stock speaker with an Eminence Ragin' Cajun and you have a seriously super little amp.

The Fender Blues Jr., Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, or the Fender Princeton Recording amps are all worth consideration.

Got a line on a Marshall AVT50 Valvestate 2000 now on the local Craigslist. Has some very good reviews, and it'll probably be big enough for what I need.
