Location: Phoenix AZ | Collings SJ. Spruce top w/ flamed maple back/sides. This plays and sounds very, very sweet. First maple backed guitar I've had and I'm very much loving it. Body size is similar to a Takamine NEX, maybe a tad fatter in the arse. Fit, finish and ohh-la-la is typical Collings standard.

Does it feel more like a 1-3/4 or the smaller size? |

Evidently in the late 80's he helped design several guitars for Collings to build, with Gruhn's name on the peghead. There's a pic and one of them is identical to the SJ... |

Location: 6 String Ranch | I had one of those. It's more like he talked about what he wanted but Bill Collings made it happen. There were only about 30 of these made. They were very good but they brought about half the amount that a Collings would. I bought mine from Ghrun's shop and I asked why they weren't much money and the answer was the name on the peghead. They were a dread and the SJ type, that's what I had. Nice guitar but a skinny neck. |

so.....I am saying "don't wait for us to sell". Jump into the water....it's not that deep. :D |
