But the guilt - will you be able to live with yourself?. Its not really lying is it? I mean, the government does it, big business does it, the local school board does it. Here comes the cliff.

I also came across one of these at the Guitar Center by my house on Friday.
It looked new, played great, sounded great.
The tag said USED $999.xx.

I was intrigued so I went to try this one. It was my first encounter with the 2080. Beautiful instrument in beautiful shape. I have played only a handful of Adami - I lean more towards wood. I took it from its perch on the used instrument stage and went to the quiet acoustic room. The strings were dead and horribly out of tune - could loose a shim but the neck is straight.

I'm not diggin' it. The neck is kinda chunky, the high end is pretty clean, but uneven up and down the neck and up and down the strings. The low E is unnaturally overbearing. For reference I pulled down an OMC that had equally dead strings- I preferred its feel and sound.

Every instrument is not a winner, even in the high end - I've played various OMCs and Claptons and Taylors and whatever - they all were beautiful but only the rare one has "it." The sound, the feel, the vibe, the smell.

I went straight home and played my 1617 -it definitely has "it." I played a 1621 once that had "it." My "book" has 9/10ths of it. That new Koa top cutaway Taylor has "it"- I ramble.

So why do I keep trying to find something better? Why do I waste my time? Go ask Tiger. We're just never satisfied.

What Stephen said. I'll bring mine down to Moodyville in January and let you check it out.

I'm letting my fingers rest. I was playing for a few hours tonight. My son got home from college this afternoon and we did a little jamming.

In a couple of years the OFCII is gonna be one of those legendary guitars that "you should've been there and grabbed one when you had the chance".

I am stunned by how little hype these have received and that they have actually lasted 6 months before almost selling out.

Dead on, Stephen. Especially when you consider that these things cost less than the least expensive Collings.

Agreed, the OFC II will go down in history as "the one you shoulda got."

The first OFC guitar was a really nice, but added to the 33 originals and 80+ of the 47RI's that's quite a lot of that particular guitar type. There will always be one available someplace or another. But not so with the OFC II. Those puppies are rare and soon to be gone, gone, gone. I seriously doubt you will see many change hands. Maybe none.
