Hello All,

I am trying to find out some information about an Ovation electric/acoustic model for a friend. He played his friend's guitar years ago and it holds a sentimental value so he is trying to locate one for himself.

Here's what he told me so far:
Light gray sunburst
Symmetrical shape
no cutout on the top
electric/acoustic
perhaps 1991?

I apologize if the info I provided is vague but that is basically what he remembers about the guitar.

I did a seach on the Ovation website under the discontinued models but without really knowing more info and the actual color name, I came up empty. I will pester him for more information but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome. Ovation didn't use that color scheme on very many models. The color is called Barn Board. The most likely models are either the Ultra 1312 or the Ultra 1517 . There's a picture of a cutaway Ultra 1528 that shows that color burst .

Thank you for the response, when looking at the discontinued models section on the Ovation page I thought barn board might be the color.

There was also the \'83 Collectors model.

This was a cutaway though... if that's what he means by "no cutout on the top".

Celebrities were also offered in Barn Board in the late 80's.
