Just as a side note, this is the 25th anniversary of the creation of the 1537.....

Good thing I bought mine used or I'd be wetting my pants, if you know what mean.

Wonder what Ovation would charge to make one as a custom order?
Same material, same specs..etc.

It's also my daughter's 25th birthday this week. I told her she'd inherit the 1537, but I got her an 83 Collector's for her birthday. That will have to do until I die. Maybe that way she won't be hoping I kick off early so she can get the 1537.

Steve, why not buy a used one and send it to "Mother" for a full makeover. I am sure that it would be a lot cheaper than a special order.

Mark, you may be encouraging her to seek your early demise. Why settle for one when you can have two!

Mine is 26 years old and I was just playing it this last weekend. Too bad it's got a skinny neck.

There's a 1537 on Craigslist in Littleton, Co. for $600. The seller has a link to Dave's website, but no photos of the listed guitar. There are a few members in that area that might take a look at it if anyone is interested.

And this is the perfect thread to announce that I will have one in my hot little hands (UPS gremlins willing) by the end of the week. (Along with another beauty that will remain a mystery until it arrives safely and I can take pictures.) Last week was the best online scrounging week I've ever had...bar none! :D

Since Littleton is my backyard, I sent him an email. We will see the response and if anyone is interested, I will go and check it out.

Hmmm, we must have posted at about the same time Jack. Yours was not there when I posted. To make a long story short, that one is no longer available. :D

Hi Stephen, I already had my little brother check it out Yesterday. Some pick scratching and a 1/4" finish crack next to an epaulette. Otherwise, it sounds in good shape.

I now need to reimburse my brother $600! Yay! Pray that UPS doesn't banjanx the whole transaction.

I tired to do a limited reissue run of 1537's for the anniversary but I guess it was just never meant to be.

in the mean time I still have
12 fret koas
14 fret koas
12 string u681t
08 collectors

and a ton of other cool guitars

Congratulations, Patch. I emailed the seller either Friday or Saturday but never received a response. I hadn't planned on buying it but if it sounded decent I was going to post it here. Be sure to post some pics when you get it.
