I don't know the person that I bought this from, and I haven't played one before. So while I am waiting to receive it I figured that I could whet my appetite with anybody's insights in my incoming guitar.
All that I have are crappy evilBay pics... And almost No Description!
This guy is a man of few words. His total description in the listing was...
"You Will Love The Sound Of This Electric model #6778LX Right Handed Guitar...Get It Now & Thank You!"

Wednesday seems so far away!
But they are coming Fed Ex so they might arrive on Tuesday...
OH! "They"... I got an SG Beater coming too! :D
But I am really much more interested in any information on the pretty Elite.

Iffy asks: Now... what's that SG you're getting?
What? The pic didn't load? Or your browser won't support it?
I will try agin...

It is just a beat-up solid body. I am hoping that I can just slap some knobs on it change the strings and it'll be a good one. (That I overpaid for)
On the back by the electronics cover there was a bumper sticker that left gunk...
Will Goof-Off or Goo-Gone take the paint off?

But I am REALLY looking forward to the 6778LX!
I bought the SG first, and if I had known that I was gonna be getting the Elite, I wouldn't have bought the SG.
This is why I gotta sell the 1111-CG to finance my habit!

My Firefox didn't show your last two pics on your first post. I can see all three on your response.

Nonetheless, CONGRATS!

Yes, my newest acquisition is the same model, and it's great. The NEB is beautiful. SOME day, I may change the OP-Pro out for a Studio, but I'm very happy with it.

Nah, just sell me the Sweet T. You know you want to. You think it's ugly and you've been meaning to get rid of the darn thing anyway. (It's not working is it?)

Anyway, I played the 6778LX in the natural color (it's still hanging in the shop, in case you "need" a second one to complement the NEB!)

I can only comment indirectly on the sound, as the natural one that I played has the bass side only epaulets. In a nutshell: if the T is woody and crispy (two of my favorite things), the 6778 is waaaarm. I don't know if it's the LX neck to body joint, but when you press this thing up against your body it feels like the most solid Ovation ever built.

If I could afford it I would have both the natural and the NEB (and an Adamas and your sweet T). So many guitars, so little time.

Please post your findings as soon as you get your hands on her!

Arthur, CONGRATULATIOS!

I have a 6778LX and I love that little guitar! Mine has a sweet, warm, woody sound. As you already know the NEB finish is outstanding. You are going to be VERY happy! I look forward to the new photos...

They're very nice guitars. I've had two of them, and currently have the 12 string version.

OMA, any type of oil will take the sticky stuff off. You could use anything from baby oil to cooking oil to WD40. Let it soak in for a few minutes, then wipe/rub it off. Sometimes a finger works better than a rag to get the stubborn spots off. Then, after you have wiped it clean, hit it with a little Lemon Pledge.

Arthur,
I would definitely have one in my stable if my shoulder would cooperate; I've played a couple, and had one in black. I really like them; the necks have all been nice, and they do have a warm, resonant sound.

I finally Got\'s It!

First off! If you ever decide to cover a guitar neck with a sock for shipping...
Make sure the sock is clean, and sent it's partner.

BTW- I was in the process of stripping my bed and washing my linen when FX came! :p

And it is so Hard to get the color to come-out right on these photos...

This is a nice sounding guitar, but I will make it better. (Not with my talent, that's for sure) Now I gotta change the strings and clean it up. OH! When this arrived it had the preamp stuffed in the can incorrectly. (Of course it didn't work that way... I wonder if that is why he sold it?) Anyway, I had to grit my teeth and shove the wide end of the teardrop back in so that I could get it back out.
I just cannot see how people can even DO something like that!
I was obviously wrong, and it didn't wanna come back out very easily.
Like I said, I had to close my eyes and SHOVE!
(Please don't break, Please don't break, Please don't break! :D )
