Location: Miami | Can someone confirm and add on:
1581 has mid bowl, whereas 1781 has deep bowl;
1581 has white and orangy epaulettes, whereas 1781 has white and browny;
1581 has OP-PRO, whereas 1781 has stereo-FET.
Any other differences, and why is the 1781 twice as expensive? |

I wouldn't call the epis on mine "orangy"
My 1581 (1994) has OP24 preamp.

Location: Miami | Oops. I stated the specs backwards. (And it's the 1581 that's twice as expensive). (On the preamp question, I'm going by the Adamas website.) AussieJames, yours would be the brown, not the orange. Correct? |

If you go to the top of the page and click on member access and then photo gallery, click on the drop down box and you will find my gallery. There is a pic of my 1581 in the Adamas album.

Location: Miami | Wow. What a beauty! It's interesting that they never differentiate between models that have epi's on both sides versus bass side only.
Anyway, I'll be trying an Adamas for the first time next week, and the one that caught my eye (or at least, my budget!) is the 1781. We'll see.
Thanks for your replies! |
