Did you have a specific question? When I get back from the trip I am currently on I will sit down with my Omega and the Cubase to see what it is that I need help with and post back. I was just seeing if there was anyone here who had experience and I am glad to find that there is.
Would this be better taken to the recording forum?
Thanks. |

It will definitely get seen by more people on this site but it will scroll away within days and be harder to find.
The social site with the Home Recording group is easy to find and all the threads are located in one nice section.
My recommendation would be to move it to the recording group on the other site. |

Location: Hanau, Hessen, Germany | I am planning to buy me some "homerecording-stuff" in the next few days. First I was thinking of a Tascam-144 Audio Interface with a good microphone for starting off. Then a friend of mine who works as a sound-engineer (hope this is the correct translation) told me I might be happy enough with a Zoom H4 Recorder (normally a mobile recorder but can also be used as an audiointerface).
Then I found this on you tube and now I'm pretty sure I want a Zoom H4 for my first steps in Homerecording ;) It's an Ovation recorded with the H4 and the sound is amazing for such a small machine... |

Location: Hanau, Hessen, Germany | The point about the Zoom H4 is the load of features. It's a handy recorder but also an audiointerface to use with the PC. A huge plus is the possibiltiy to plug condesator microphones (I think my english is not good enough for such technical stuff xD) I think it's best to read it for yourself.
( klick this link ) to see a description of the Zoom H4.
I have visited many forums to read more about the device as I am planning to buy one and I'd say about 95% of the users are full of enthusiasm about it.
As far as I have seen, there is no other handy recorder which can keep up with it's features (at least in this price range).
edit: The follow-up (Zoom H4n) was released in germany a little while ago and should be even better, but is also roundabout 80 Bucks more expensive. So to me... I think the "old" H4 will be a perfect start into the world of recording ;) |
