Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | I just got the CK047-Koa... I have very little plugged-in response on my sixth Low-E string.
The other five work fine. I have a little sound coming over the amp but not much.
Any suggestions?
[Other than buying a Artec and a saddle and switching it all out, I am trying to do something else first.
The saddle looks like the one with the wire hanging out of it...

Location: Scotland | It's not a preamp problem, it's most probably a faulty pickup. Or just as likely with that type of pickup the base of the saddle-slot is uneven or the shims are uneven.
If there are any shims in there take them out. Replace the saddle/pickup and with the strings up to pitch apply some pressure with your thumb over the 6th string. If the volume comes back the pickup is OK and it's an uneven slot. If not it's probably a dodgy pickup. Mother should be able to supply a replacement. |

Now I have to fabricate some shims or put these in differently.
I should have known that the Pick-up must work because the tuna works...(duh?)
Either way, I guess that I will either have to cut-up some credit cards or search for a real factory shim through the guitar junk that I have scattered all throughout my place.
Without shims, the string almost lie on the fretboard.
I live in One Room (plus bathroom)... How can I just misplace so much [stuff]? :p |
