A new attempt on the record for the largest guitar ensemble playing the same song is to be held in Clonakilty, Ireland on Sept 19th. Anyone care to join in? |

Location: Blue Ridge Mountains | I took place in the Greater Nashville Guitar Pull with Roy Clark at Opryland in 1990...there were over 2000 in the group: we formed an acoustic guitar and the picture was taken from a crane...I was part of the sound hole playing my 1758-6p Elite 12 and Roy was in the center of the soundhole...we played Wildwood Flower in C and it was great. The picture was on the national news and in a national magazine...I probably have it somewhere in storage...I did find the Certificate |

Location: Cork, Ireland | Sorry yes, 2 identical links. One was supposed to be the current record:

We (assuming I get there) intend to play the song "Oró Sé Do Bheatha 'Bhaile" http://www.celtic-lyrics.com/forum/index.php?autocom=tclc&code=lyri...
which CAN be played using Am and G. Now, what strings should I use? Should I get a new guitar for the occasion? |

I have seen it and it is very cool...I am not sure of the magazine it was published in back then and an internet search has not helped yet...I am not sure if I ever had a copy...it was taken from a crane to capture the entire figure of the guitar made up of so many persons all playing guitar...it was amazing to be a part of that. I'll keep looking... |

Location: Cork, Ireland | 800 turned up and that was pretty cool (if well short of a new record). All ages were represented, playing all manner of guitars. Possibly one other Ovation/Applause (or a lookalike, I did not get close). Intention is to try again but they'll need to do more advertising |
